A geological group from Siberia drilled a hole about 14.4 kilometers down into the crust of the earth. It was a normal work day for the group, but unbeknownst to them something was about to happen that would change their lives for eternity.
While drilling they discovered an open space, a ‘pocket’ beneath the earth’s crust. Interested in their peculiar find, they decided to take a temperature reading and found that it was 2, 000 degrees Fahrenheit. Eager to gain more information about the mysterious pit, the group lowed a microphone into the hole to gage any plate movement…but that was far from what they found.
Instead strange noises were picked up of which they thought were equipment problems. But after adjusting the equipment and sending it down a second time the noises continued and the men were terrified at what they had heard. Blood-curdling cries and screams were coming from what one could only assume was the souls of those being tortured in Hell. Out of sheer fear, they abandoned the project and caped the hole permanently.
Dr. Azzacove, the director of the project, said this shocking statement about his experience:
“The discovery was nevertheless the most shocking to our ears, so much so that the scientists are afraid to continue the project. We tried to listen to the Earth’s movements at certain intervals with supersensitive microphones, which were let down through the hole. What we heard turned those logically thinking scientists into trembling ruins. It was sometimes a weak, but high pitched sound which we thought to be coming from our own equipment. But after some adjustments we comprehended that indeed the sound came from Earth’s interior. We could hardly believe our own ears. We heard a human voice, screaming in pain. Even though one voice was discernible, we could hear thousands, perhaps millions, in the background, of suffering souls screaming. After this ghastly discovery, about half of the scientists quit because of fear. Hopefully, that which is down there will stay there.”
Here is the frightening video recording gathered by Dr. Azzacove, which was given to Art Bell….
Whether you want to believe hell is a real place or not is up to you, but from my point of view, it is very, very real….
“But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars–their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.” Revelation 21:8
“Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.” Matthew 25:46
“If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go into hell, where the fire never goes out.” Mark 9:43
“If God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to hell, putting them into gloomy dungeons to be held for judgment… if this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue godly men from trials and to hold the unrighteous for the day of judgment, while continuing their punishment.” 2 Peter 2:4-9
Maybe you are left with one question: How can God be full of love and still send people to hell?
Before I became a believer this question was one of my ‘justifications’ for not believing in God. After all if a loving God could send people to hell, then was He really loving after all? Well, the answer is an astounding YES! He is a loving God. He is loving because He defines what love is. He is the creator of the universe, the Alfa and Omega, and love is the very character of God. God may act in ways that we deem as unloving by our standards, but to Him they are not unloving. Gods ways are above our ways and his thoughts are above our thoughts. We cannot put love into a box and say, “this is what love looks like.” The only person who has that authority to do that is God Himself because He created love and he opted to share it with each one of us.
Now, that we have established that God is a God of love and the very creator of it, let’s go back to the question. How can a God be full of love and still send people to hell? My answer is this, God laid out everything on the table. He said if you accept me as your Lord and Savior and love me then you are set free. His plan was not to ‘send you to hell’ rather his plan was that you would share eternity with Him. God does not ‘send’ us to hell, rather, he gives us the option to choose.
