I just bought this a month ago top record lectures at my school. The room is about the size 20ft by 20 ft. The teacher uses no mic only his voice. The room has about 10people in it. It does record, but the background noise with the standard built in mic is louder than the actual teacher. I could deal with this but, the next issue I have is this doesn't connect to my pc so I can't get the audio off of this unit. I'm very sad because it is very user friendly.Quality product with lots of uses
I use the VN-7200 when I walk to school. I'll catch ideas and other things along the way. I read my assignments aloud and listen to the recording to supplement comprehension of the subject matter and to formulate concrete questions about the material. I have a VN-7200 that I leave at home on voice activated mode to record any noises in my apartment while I'm gone. It's good to hear the distinctive knocks of different friends trying to get in touch.
The sensitivity of the mic is great. I set it outside to pick up the ambient sounds and play them back at half speed. The warbles from the bird calls were as cool sounding as the plane booming overhead. I will be finding more uses for the device as the need arises. Five stars, as deserved.
While certainly not the fanciest voice recorder out there, the VN-7200 is a fine product. It is very simple to use, does the job efficiently, and has an excellent battery life and plenty of memory (I've found it to be enough to record an entire semesters worth of a single college class) as well as a neat and easy to understand filing system for your saved recordings. I would certainly recommend it.IN A RUSH
