Record iPhone sound

Image titled Record a Voice Memo on an iPhone Step 1Tap on the Voice Memo icon. The icon is a picture of sound waves. If you can't find it, use the Spotlight Search by pulling down on your Home screen and typing"voice memo" into the search field.

Record a new memo. Press the large red button when you would like to start recording. You can start speaking immediately after pressing the Record button.

Image titled Record a Voice Memo on an iPhone Step 2 Stop recording. When you would like to stop recording, press the same button again, which will have changed into a red, square Stop button.

Finalize the recording. Press the Record button again to add onto the audio clip, or tap "Done" to finish and save the voice memo. You can trim your recording by tapping the blue "Trim" button, which looks like two intersecting lines forming a square.
  • You can preview your recording by tapping the "Play" button.

Give your recording a title. Type in a title for the voice memo and tap "Save".

Listen to your recordings. The main screen of the Voice Memo app will list all of your recorded memos by title, and will show the date and length. Tap one to listen to it.
