MP3 editing

Good day,

Today, I have noticed something weird after installing the Shark007 Standard codecs 2.51.
For some reason, the codecs removes the ability to edit the tags shown on the Details tab in the Properties dialog of any mp3 file. Normally, when you hover over the tags with your mouse, the pointer turns into a typing cursor and you can then click on a tag and edit it. This isn't possible with the codecs installed since the pointer doesn't change into a typing cursor.

Now the weird part:
If you don't have the codecs installed, this problem is apparently normal behaviour but only when you're trying to edit tags of mp3 files that are in the Music Library directory. If you right-click on any mp3 file there, you'll see an option to open the original file location which seems to be the Music folder opened through My Documents. If you go to that directory path, you will be able to edit the mp3 tags in the Properties menu of any mp3 file. The same goes for mp3's in any other directory other than the Music Library (e.g. Desktop).
However, when you do have the codecs installed, the codecs also removes that ability from those other directory paths leaving you in a state where you can't edit any tags of any mp3 no matter where it's located at.

I'm not sure if this is a general known bug or not but I hope that this can be fixed. I'm running Windows 8.1 Pro x64 with WMC.

same issue was raised HERE.
The solution is to use the checkbox on the Config TAB to [x] disable Icaros Explorer properties

So sorry I didn't notice this thread. If I understand correctly you'll look into this and see if it can be fixed?

Btw, is it normal that you can't edit the mp3 tags when you're in the Music Library even when you don't have the codecs installed but are able to do so when the mp3 is located anywhere else?

I have discussed the issue with the author of Icaros.
It is my understanding that this issue will not exist in the next release of Icaros.

As for what is normal concerning MP3 tag editing - I have no clue as I have never attempted to edit one, ever.

Sorry I didn't get in here earlier with a response.
Let me just post what I told Shark007:

Basically it is just a limitation in the current beta of Icaros.

I've implemented support for MP3 in the new Icaros Property Handler, to allow users on Win Vista/7 to view
