How to edit song use nero wav

New PC (i7 920 2.67ghz 6gb ram) with Win 7 64bit Pro, WMP Ver 12.0.7600.16667. When I try to edit tag info such as Track# in Win Explorer I get these error messages:

1. You'll need to provide administrator permission to apply properties to this file: CONTINUE

2. You need permission to perform this action. You require permission from ASUSANTEC\Dave to make changes to this file: TRY AGAIN (the dreaded infinite repeating loop of death).

File is type .wav copied from CD-R, originally created from vinyl LP to CD-R burner. I've read and tried as much on-line and forum info as I can, but nothing works to resolve the problem. It makes using WMP as my musuc organizer a nightmare/virtually useless.

I've tried changing security and owner permissions on my Music Library folder, as well as individual files, until I'm, literally and figuratively, blue. Also tried a STAMP ID3 Tag Editor from NCH to no avail.

Posting this is my last best hope before giving up.
